Day 43

We thought about staying 2 more days on the island. But, rain and more wind was in the forecast. So, before packing up, we decided to enjoy the morning one more time. The boys played and also enjoyed the morning sun.

There was a strip of broken shells. I was captivated by their beautiful colors and broken shapes. I brought me to the recent saying I’ve read “God can take broken pieces and make masterpieces!”

It was time to go. On our way out, there was this 90 yr old lady named Marilyn Darling. Jacob spoke to her the day before. She has been on the road for several years. She travels in her 2003 Born Free RV from the east to the west. She said “I like traveling alone. The only person I have to argue with is myself. I don’t have to worry about making discussion with others. ” How true are those statements.

As, we left one of the restaurants, Howards Pub and Raw Bar was open. It was one we tried to go to the day before. The atmosphere was interesting but the food was not that great. But, we had another 2 hr ferry ride ahead of us. So, we had to eat something!

Our plan now is to drive towards Wilmington, N.C to visit my half sister Ashley and step-mom Dawn.
