Day 23
Several days ago, we made plans with Paulette to go to the Tennessee Aquarium located in Chattanooga. It opened in 1992 with a view of the Tennessee River. Though, we had previously been to an aquarium in Alabama. This one is a lot bigger and has many more exhibits. It is home to more than 12,000 animals and almost 800 species from all over the world. It has the Ocean Journey exhibit building and the River Journey building.

There was so many areas of the aquarium. Naturally, I took several pictures. But, mainly of my favorite parts and areas that Paulette, my father and Jacob enjoyed.

This penguin obviously wanted the most attention. As, the others stood with their backs to the crowds of people. It would face the glass and place its beak on it.
My father and Paulette had a great time engaging with it. It’s also amazing how fast they can swim. They are like little torpedoes in the water. But, then they would hop onto the bank areas their enclosure. It was so cute to see them hobble around like the character on “Happy Feet”.

I could have just sat there for hours and hours watching all the various types of fish and other ocean wildlife. Just as long as the sharks stayed in their area and I stayed in mine.

One of my favorite sea creatures of all time is the Sea Turtle. They swim so gracefully and effortless. I am grateful that I have seen them in their natural habitat while we were in Baja California, Mexico.
There also is a beautiful butterfly enclosure with tropical plants. They also showed the process of metamorphosis they go through. It was fascinating.

This little guy was quite amusing. I placed my fingers on the glass. He reached out as to touch them. I would move my fingers and he would follow them.

There was so many sea creatures and I wanted to capture all of them. But, Jacob was able to capture one that I wasn’t. I am pretty sure he captured this one not only on video but in real life as well. Lucky for him, he gets to take it home and keep her with him. Poor guy! Ha, ha. It definitely unusual and weird looking. I am not sure the species either. I will let you see it for yourself.

After, taking a lunch break at a place called Puckett’s. We went to the River Journey area. It was equally amazing. There were otters playing around in the water. They look so silky smooth as they glide around.

Here is some other river animals. Many of them, I hope to not encounter in person or only from a safe distance. Like this fellow! While others, I wouldn’t mind as long as they don’t snap at me or jump on me.

We all really had a great time together. There was a rain storm slowly blowing our way. The winds were blowing and the temperature had dropped some. So, eventually after a few other stops, we headed home.
