Day 13
On Day 13, we left Alabama. We gassed up TJ Shack grabbed some Buccees coffee. I had my bible in my lap ready to read and we headed out. We were on our way to The Sunshine State…Florida!

Once we passed the state line.. hunger set in. We were in Ft. Walton. I know, it seems like we are always eating. But, that is a part of being on the road. We stopped at G.I Jades Tiki Bar and Bistro. It was over looking the bay. We hung out there for a bit. Especially, since we could not check into the Airbnb until 3pm. We had some time to waste. The food was good and the atmosphere was laid back beach vibes.

Afterwards, we headed to the Airbnb. It was in a great location to where we needed to be. The Airbnb is nice. It has the typical beach decor as expected for this area. The hostess even had a gift for us on the bed. So nice!

We came to Florida to visit my Yankee friend, Tracey. Now don’t get offended. That is what I have always called her and she calls me Texas. We have been friend for 20+ yrs. During that time we have lost touch. But, when we got reacquainted it was like time did not matter. She originally lived 3 blocks away from me in Abilene. But, moved to Panama City for a job opportunity. Luckily, the Airbnb was only a few blocks away from her house. What are the chances?

She came over. She was surprised and happly we were here. Her and Jacob get along great. They both work in IT (computers) so they have all that “nerdy stuff’ to discuss. Ha, Ha. We made plans for the Marti Gras festivities downtown. After a bit, she left. Jacob and I took a well needed nap. We are like babies… Eat, Sleep and Poop. Ha, ha!!!
Later, she came and picked us up. The Marti Gras Festivities was fun. Tracey and Jacob indulged in a cigar as we listened to music from the live band. I people watched ALOT , laughing at many and wondering about many more! People are just interested in their behaviors. We warmed ourselves by a little fire. It was a nice evening. As it ended, we came back to the Airbnb had some coffee and said goodnight.
