Day 7

Today, we ventured out to Long Beach and Bay St. Louis, MS. It was a cool weather day but the sun was out. So, it was time for us to be too.

We cruised along Hwy 90 which runs along the coast of The GULF OF MEXICO! I don’t think we have been on as many bridges as we have this trip so far.

Well, our exploring almost came to a stop. But, all is good. Let me fill you in. We decided to walk along the beach with the dogs. We found one that would allow them. Since, there are many that will not. We were walking along. Jacob with Dean and I had Jaxon. Which is how we normally walk them. Well, Jaxon’s leash got wrapped around my left leg, as he took off after a leaf. I fell as my knee dislocated (the kneecap slips out of socket at the end of the femur) and down I went. I knew instantly what happened, due to it happening before. I screamed in pain then quickly straightened my leg to pop the kneecap back in place. Meanwhile, Jacob was trying to figured out what was happening. He quickly took Jaxons leash from me. After a few minutes, I was finally able to get up. Jacob was insistent we not continue. But, I wanted to continue walking some. I have dislocated my knee before and though I was hurting. I know FOR ME walking was going to help strengthen it. We continued walking but Jacob took control of both dogs. Once, back at The Shack I took some Advil Dual Action. That stuff works great for me. But, I could tell my knee was swollen some due to the trauma. It is nothing I need to have a doctor look at. I just know not to put all my weight on it. Plus, I am stubborn!

Favoring my left knee! Hurting but I will still smile in pictures.

We drove down Hwy 90 along the small towns of Long Beach ,Pass Christian and Bay of St. Louis. Briefly stopping for me to get a picture of this small Catholic Mission Church. It was originally constructed in 1844. Over the years, fire and hurricanes had destroyed the original building. This one has been here since 2015.

Marti Gras was recently celebrated and there was a party with several ladies dressed up in their best Marti Gras outfits. One lady I saw allowed me to take picture of her.

Eventually, hunger set in and the restaurants were finally open so we searched for a place to eat. The town was all awake and people were out and about from church to bars. So, we went parked and head to Lemoines Landing.

We took another short walk afterwards to one of the marinas. Where the Angel Tree is. It has a nice story to it.

My knee was not hurting as bad as it was when the fall happened. But, on the way home we did stop at Walmart for a few things needed and a knee brace just to help with support. I have been resting it the remainder of our evening. But, I am strong and will be just fine. Jacob has been attentive and helpful. That’s all I need.
