Day 70:
48 yrs old!!!! What??? I can’t believe it. Yes, today is/was my birthday 🎂! But, as I think 🤔 about this past year all I can say is; it’s been crazy, amazing, scary, exciting, sad and most of all happy! But, that’s just life !
We had a little of a restless night. Just sleep somewhere different! Nevertheless, we have enjoyed being here. We were listening to music 🎶 this morning. I love the way music can just bring various feelings out. This morning it was Etta James- At last!
It was a cool and windy morning! We started our day with the continental breakfast the lodge provided! We ate light knowing we would have a big dinner. Plus, we have been eating crazy heavy stuff lately.
Later, we were walking the boys. I am always watching my steps because of the dog’s leashes. I look 👀 over at a bush and find $6 !!! Woot woot 😁😁😁!
A bit later, we left the cabin and took a drive. There are several lakes around here. We stopped at Lake Mary, Twin Lakes, Horseshoe Lake and a few others. Still astounded on how clear they are! At Horseshoe Lake they had a little barn looking house. We took a look in. There was a desk and some bunk beds from what we could see.
After exploring the lake areas… we did a little shopping 🛍️! Admired a beautiful view point! Then went back to the bakery from yesterday. We wanted to check out the fresh breads they have in the morning time. Plus, I promised my mother in law I would take pictures of some of the Dutch stuff they had there. Oh Ma Sofie, the ladies there stood together to take a picture for you. The one with the sunglasses 😎 said “Tell your mom Hi for me!” I inquired why they had so many Dutch products! The man that owned it was Dutch! He has passed away due to Covid! His wife is American and kids still run the store. It makes sense now!
The boys needed some fresh air and to work off some of their energy. So, we took them for a walk on a trail. We saw some more Sequoias. They enjoyed all the scents their little noses could handle.
Eventually, returning to the cabin to relax some. We sat on the porch of the cabin enjoying the little bits of warmth available. Jacob went in for a bit. So I decided to walk around the lodge grounds! Well, the boys would not allow Jacob to rest. So, they came to find me. We walked them more. I was talking to my mom Marie & would you believe it!!!! I found $20 this time close to the lake area!!! Oh my goodness! I need to walk around here more! It’s paying 💰off! 😁😁😁
We came inside and relaxed some before getting ready for dinner at a Brazilian Steakhouse! It was delicious.
Now, we are enjoying my birthday cake from the bakery and going to relax. Tomorrow, we leave! To hopefully what we believe will be another enjoyable place.
