Day 67:

Well, Day 3 of Yosemite National Park is complete! It was an eye opening day for sure!
After, being woke up at 2:30 am 🕝 from someone setting up camp ⛺️, opening, & closing doors, honking a horn several times. We luckily dozed off. Waking up again around 8 am. It was coffee ☕️ time. Again, packing up the Shack to head to the park.
Today’s, exploration was in Crane Flat. Home to several tree giants… Sequoias! Jacob and I talked about how small we felt by these giants! The area was full of several species of trees 🌲 reminded us of the movie Avatar!
I could not even wrap my arms around them and Jacob looked like a dwarf. Several of the sequoias were losing their first lay of bark. As,if it was shedding its skin! In some areas it was as thick as 3” or more. Jacob count the rings on one stump 100 rings. That’s an old tree!!!!

It’s amazing that its roots only burying 10 ft deep. Yet, spread out over 100 ft. & all starting from a little seed! As some of the sequoias given way to their root systems toppling over. They are slowly decaying back into the earth that once helped it grow. Become one with it again.

There was a few wildlife that made their presence: a few Mule Deer, a squirrel and a Pileated Woodpecker.

Afterwards, we drove to the fire look out station. Where we enjoyed some lunch, the remainder of the chicken salad. Then, we climbed up into the look out station and looked around it. So cool!

Coming back to camp early, we just hung out for the remainder of the day. Jacob cooked dinner lemon/herb chicken on skewers with asparagus. But, the night chill has set in ,it’s time to relax and find my blankets. 😌 Burrr!
