Day 61:

We had a great time the last 3 days at the Bronco Super Celebration. But, it felt great sleeping 💤 in. Still, we woke up around 7:30am but did not have rush to leave anywhere.
We enjoyed our coffee ☕️ and some breakfast. Then, headed out. When we first got to Carson City, I spotted a thrift store. It had a sign “Voted Best Thrift Store in NV”. I told Jacob, I have to go there before we leave Carson City. It was a very nice for a thrift store. Today was 50% off day too! Bonus! 😁😁😁, I bought 2 “Chicken Soup for the Soul” books. They were $1.00 total! I love looking around in thrift stores. One thing, I learned about this one is: the money stays local help women, men and children who are victims of domestic violence.

Today, we went to Virginia City, NV. It’s an old mining ⛏️ town with rich history. Virginia City is famous for the discovery of the Comstock Lode silver ore in 1859. The town was once known as “the richest city in the world” for the wealth of gold and silver mined from the Comstock Lode.
A fun fact, we learned today is, Jacobs parents visited Virginia City many yrs ago. His mother recalls going into a saloon. There was cowboys eating and drinking a lot of whiskey! While their horses were outside.
We went into several stores. The was one that had things that reminded me of my childhood. Gosh, it made me feel old We also found Jacob some Dutch Licorice! This old miner asked for me to take his picture! Instead, I took one with him! I thought 💭 he was pretty cute! We saw some interesting but fun characters; like this man walking a pig on a harness.

It was chilly for us there. So, we stopped for a cup of coffee at The Roasting House. We sat outside it had a nice view. Later, watched a passenger train 🚂 leave for a tour. I’ve always wanted to ride on one. Maybe,🤔 one day!

There is a lot of history in this town. Along, with beautiful sites. It reminded us of a place in Texas called Fredericksburg. Just on a smaller scale!
Another, joyful day! Tomorrow, we leave and head towards Lake Tahoe.
