Day 47:
Where and how did you wake up this morning? As for us, it was surrounded by mountains as the sun rose up with the mustangs neighing, as their hoofs met the ground. Silence so present we could hear the bird wings flap as they flew overhead. It was just astounding.

As we got our morning started with our usual cup of coffee and some breakfast. Jacob had to do some work. While, I did my reading 📖. One daily chapter left. The Mustangs visited in the distance it was a perfect and peaceful setting.

Our plans were to leave today. We were only stopping here for the night. But, I wasn’t going to bring it up. If we stayed I was fine with it. But, soon Jacob said “let’s pack it up.”
We got less than a mile down the road. Discovering large 2 bee hives structures. We took a moment to explore them. They were charcoal kilns. Huge stone formations used 160 yrs ago to make coal from burning wood. We stepped into them. Literally being able to still smell burnt ashes. It’s amazing they are still standing. At first, we thought they were Native American dwellings.

As we made out tracks leaving nothing but a trail of dust. We head down a dirt road in hopes it lead us to our next destination Cathedral Gorge State Park. I had researched that there were showers 🚿 there. And well, we both needed one.
Once again we were fresh and clean. So it was again time to get on the road. Eventually, coming to a town called Caliente (which means “hot” in Latin). We ate lunch at what seemed the only restaurant there. No dinner for us !
Then, it was time to head out to Dave Deacons Campground in Nevada. Traveling down the road, we passed an area with Joshua Trees. Finally, we reached the campground. It’s dusty, windy, in the middle of NOWHERE and just desert. We had originally heard about it from YouTuber One AdVANture At A Time. Since, then Jacob has wanted to come and explore it. There is a little secret not far from it. And we plan to visit it tomorrow.
So check out my blog tomorrow to see what it is! Until then, you can see a little of our silly personalities!
