Day 40:

Waking up this morning it was chilly out. Jacob, the boys (Jaxon and Dean), and I snuggled in the blankets. We stayed there until we saw the sun ☀️ shining on the mountains ⛰️.

We skipped breakfast this morning but not our coffee ☕️. Enjoying the warmth it provided as we pack up to leave. Leaving my mark, we drove away.

The sunshine meets the mountains just perfectly. As it reflects is self portrait on the hood of TJ. Turning a corner , I can see the beginning of a future arch. Knowing it will not be seen in my generation. But, knowing the mesmerizing amazement others may feel.

We past through a small community there a quaint little bakery called Tumbleweed. We decided to stop for breakfast and another cup coffee ☕️. The croissant sandwiches hit the spot. We left with another tasty treat of Banana Bread to share later!

Driving along, we are once again surprised by some magnificent views. Sometimes pictures say a thousand words…other times they can’t say enough. Breathtaking!

There was a section of the road with fantastic views. Our eyes wanted to peer to the left and right. But with drop offs on each side, it was best to focus solely on the road. Our stomach’s got a little queasy as we tried to have slight glimpses.

We took a small pathway back in the time of Jurassic era at the Escalante Petrified Forest Statepark. Jacob and I agreed the most impressive part was the displayed tree at the beginning. The boys were troupers, as we took a short 1 mile hike uphill. It tired them out.

We are now in Bryce Canyon. We had our next camp picked out for The Shack. I call it Pinecone graveyard! I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many in one place! Jaxon thought he had new toys to play with. Dinner was low key tonight. But, we had change for us!!! We cooked inside the shack.

Now this evening is upon us. The banana bread from this morning is calling our name. We must answer as we enjoy another beautiful night sky.

Red light special sleeping under the stars.
