Day 32:

I think today, I took least pictures than ever so far. It was a beautiful day, though it had bouts of wind.

As, it was coffee time. Jacob brought our coffee to the hill behind the shack. Coffee on the mound, I’ll call it. We sat up there a bit simply enjoying the sounds of the morning.

The lower left side of my back was hurting today. Probably, just sleep 💤 wrong. Though, it’s amazing how comfortable we are on a 3” latex mattress. We do have the froli bed system under it. It really makes a difference for us.

One thing, I didn’t mention was once we got the shack back from the mechanic shop; we heard a squealing sound. It started after we washed it. We figured it could be sand (there’s a lot where we are) or a rock 🪨 stuck. So, Jacob tried to decipher what could be causing it. While, I did my morning reading 📖. But, not having totally level ground, he decided to wait. Smart idea!

Once that ordeal was over, it was breakfast time. We have leftover machaca con huevos which is eggs and dried beef. I first tried it when we were in Baja California Mexico. They had it at a little family-owned restaurant at La Poma Campo. It paired it with a carb friendly tortilla… no it’s not the same as homemade tortillas. But it does the trick!

Yesterday, Jacob was playing private investigator as he tried to figure out what the group of vehicles was all about not far from us. We could see a bus and van driving in yesterday evening. The curiosity still lingered today!

Since, my low back was aching we decided to take a walk and see. I know, what heck are we thinking 🤔! But, walking is one of the best exercises. It can help with muscle endurance and other parts of the body! Most of the time, walking will help my back too! It hurt worse while sitting. So, movement is what I desired.

We got to the area of the vehicles 🚗 🚙🛻🚘. There was about 4 tents ⛺️ set up, evidence of a camp fire 🔥, cooking supplies and chairs. As, we walked up not knowing if anyone was there I yelled “HELLO!!” a few times. No one answered. So, we stood there trying to decide what to do next! The only answer was to walk back to our camp. But, the only problem with that was we still don’t have an answer of what’s happening there ! Lol 😂

Upon our return of our mystery, I made us a salad for lunch 🥗. We crave the freshness of nice salad. Jacobs is simple some romaine lettuce 🥬 green with walnuts topped with dressing. Mine well I never know what I’ll put. Today, it was romaine lettuce 🥬 greens with ham cubes, cherry tomatoes, some mixed nuts and dressing. We also both added some apple 🍎…fancy! Lol, but it was good 👍🏽!

We took another lengthy walk on the hill behind us. Still, trying to work this back pain out. As well to let the dogs burn off some energy.

This evening, we watched the second part of “A woman called Moses” with Cecily Tyson as Harriet Tubman. Harriet Tubman was an American abolitionist and social activist. After escaping slavery, Tubman made some 13 missions to rescue approximately 70 enslaved people, including her family and friends, using the network of antislavery activists and safe houses known collectively as the Underground Railroad. She also accomplished several other historical achievements! She was buried with military honors! What an amazing woman she was!!!
