Day 30

It’s officially a month, since we been on the road. I would not change a thing. Many memories, moments and experiences have been created. We look forward to continuing to make more. God had been good to us.

Well, today waking up in the hotel was rough. We didn’t sleep well. But we woke up still refreshed and ready to tackle the day.

Jacob’s day started with a bit of work. I made us some coffee. I went to hotel breakfast room to pick us up a light breakfast! Yogurt and a banana 🍌. We didn’t want to overdo it, since yesterday we felt yucky! While Jacob finished up his work, I did my reading 📖.

Next, we FaceTime with Jacobs parents that live in The Netherlands. I just love 💗 when they laugh at the stories we tell them. Their smiles are just precious!

Jacob decided to go check on The Shack. He was going to take an Uber. But, they never came. So, he took a 30 min walk 🚶🏼‍➡️to the mechanic shop. He took his backpack 🎒 with him just in case work called. He tried to hitchhike but no luck. Go figure who’s going to pick up a long-haired hippie looking dude! Lol…Once, there they told him it would be about 1.5 hrs. more. So, he went to the Rv park we left the trailer at and sat with it. The dogs and I stayed at the hotel. The hotel staff allowed me to stay the room after checkout time. I thought it was very nice of them.

Eventually, Jacob texted he was on his way. TJ Shack was back and ready to roll! Big thanks to Quality Auto Repair & Towing Service for their honest work. We loaded up and The Shack needed a washing. We could still smell oil from the leak.

Then, it was grocery time. We stocked up on a few of our needs. But dang these groceries were expensive! Over $100 for few items. But it’s ok! We have eat better!

After all was done, it was time to find camp! We had already researched a few places on iOverlander. There was one stretch we both came back too. So, we headed to it. At last, we were surrounded by the twisted Utah Junipers.

All settled in we were hungry. Back to the food our stomachs and bodies can handle! Lots of veggies 🥗, avocado 🥑 and spinach wrap. Mmmm 😋 so good!

We explored the area. Jacob found two combination bike locks. They were both hanging on a tree and locked 🔐. Next thing, I know he has figured out the combination. He also changed it to something we would remember. Man, this guy is cleaver! I guess, finders’ keepers. 😁

Besides, The Shack being back and all good. I got some more exciting news! My oldest niece Amber FaceTime me. I had a feeling something was up. She doesn’t FaceTime just to chat 💬. But, she claimed everything was good. Matter of fact everything was going to get even better! She’s pregnant 🤰 with her second baby! She’s due in May 2025! I’m going to be a GAT (Great Aunt Traci) for the 4th time!!!

The boys were exploring the area too. They are happy to be able to wonder around and mark every where! Now, they are exhausted from their busy day.

The sunset was beautiful despite the wind. We took the time to reflect on the beauty of our desert like scenery. Eventually, deciding to get ready for a better night’s sleep 🛌.
