Day 25:
What a cloudy ☁️ day today has been. Which does not help our solar setup much. We had to try to conserve the battery 🔋usage. But we maintain our usage pretty good. The tall pines 🌲 surrounding us and blocking the sun ☀️ rays don’t help much.
Naturally like every morning, I did my reading 📖 & we had coffee ☕️. While we enjoyed the bits of sunshine ☀️ available. We relaxed a bit, and I did some reading. Then, I cook us breakfast 🍳 🥚🥓🥑🍅🍌. It sure looked like a colorful plate 🍽️.
Next it was dishes and craft time. I painted 🎨 two little rocks 🪨. I hid the blue one around camp. Look at the picture with the stump and see if you can find it. PLEASE… comment if you did. During my craft time, Jacob relaxed in the hammock. That stand we bought sure is handy.
We choose to walk to the other end of the lake. Well, let’s say as far as we could on the path. We sat down admiring the setting around us. There’s a saying “Don’t look back it’s in the past!” (something like that). But we had to take the path back from where we came from. It had some nice views.
I’m trying to teach Jaxon to walk by me instead of in front of me. I have stopped using the retractable leash on him for now. He seems to be doing better. He just pulls me when on retractable. I know, he is a small 30lb dachshund. But even my boxer Otis didn’t pull me like this. He was a big boy too. So, I will continue training him during this trip. When, he goes to fast or starts to pull I give the leash a little jerk and make a “Chh” sound. He seems to slow down. We will see if it works.
I did make a discovery today! I found a wild raspberry bush. The raspberries were still small and not ready for picking. I remember as a kid being at my fathers and grandfathers house picking wild raspberries and blackberries. We (my sister and I) would eat them right off the bush. Funny, how now days most ppl would not even do that. I would!
As more clouds ☁️ came in we decided it was time to go to CineShack and watch a movie 🎥. The only thing is this CineShack unlike other theaters does not have all the popcorn 🍿, candy or other goodies. Oh well! We watch part one of “A woman called Moses” with Cecliy Tyson. She has always been a great actress in my opinion. She plays in a lot of Christian movies 🎥 too.
Jacob cooked dinner 🥘 while I talked with my mom. She and my dad just got back from their own little trip. They rented a cabin in Broken Bow, OK. They had a relaxing time.
Now, we are inside The Shack. Doing our nightly routine. Which is whatever we decide and whatever comes to mind. Lol 😂. But for now, it’s time to wash up and brush my teeth 🪥 🦷. We will leave tomorrow! We have a surprise for someone with about a 3.5-4-hour drive ahead of us.
