Day 22:
I’m doing my daily blog early today. We have had a fun adventurous day. We left our little nestled area and after reading 📖 coffee ☕️ and breakfast.
Then, headed to the campground at the Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP. We found our spot and dropped the trailer off. Then it was off too experience South side of the canyon. We down the East Portal Rd. headed to spring gulch and the dam. The road was 16% grade and a very curvy mountainous road. The scenery was beautiful. TJ (the Bronco) handled it like a champ. He never burned brakes on way down, uphill 2000 rpm, 20mph transmission never over 180. TJ is an oldie but goodie 🥰.

We spent quite a bit of time down by the Gunnison River. It started to sprinkle pretty steady, but that did not stop us for enjoying the enormous mountain ⛰️ formations created.

Jacob tried to throw a rock 🪨 across the river to the other side. He missed but got it the next time. I tried pushing one too. But the darn thing would not budge. 💪🏽

We thought we saw a familiar face carved into the mountain ⛰️… not saying who… but we know he didn’t not make it on Mount Rushmore. Lol

As, we headed back up that crazy mountain road. We decided to go to the visitor center. Just before arriving, we were surprised by a little visitor of our own. Winne the Pooh 🐻. Well, not actually him but an American Black Bear. He was just minding his own business eating in the bushes.

We got back to camp and had some lunch. Then, I noticed this huge mushroom 🍄🟫. It bigger than a softball 🥎. I put my hand next to it for comparison. It’s called a Western Giant Puffball.

Well, that’s all the highlights of my day today! I think 🤔 that they are pretty amazing.
