Day 7:

I am just now getting to posting our day yesterday. The night before, we packed up our camping gear and prepared for our departure. That morning, we woke up to Jacob’s mom send us some music 🎶 “Una furtiva Lacrima” by Luciano Pavarotti. It’s Italian! Waking up all the birds 🐦 and other forest animals. Here, I am thinking 🤔 and mention to Jacob “Awe that’s a nice!” 🎵 Jacob, replies “yes that is the song that will be play at my dad’s funeral”! I was speechless 😶.

Once ready I left my mark, and we headed to Angel Fire. We had seen a little burrito 🌯 shack we wanted to try. Well, hose burritos 🌯 are not little. I could barely hold it with my hands 🙌🏼. Needless to say, we could not even eat half of it. But it was good. We headed out to La Junta, CO to see Irene. Trying our best to beat the storm clouds ☁️ chasing us. SUCCESS!

Before arriving at Irene’s place, we had something to do LAUNDRY 🧺! We stopped at the local laundromat in LaJunta. Jacob washed the Bronco across the street as I did the clothes. Teamwork!!!

Once that was completed, we headed to Irene’s. We sat at the kitchen table talking and reminiscing about various topics. Giving much appreciation to the fact of staying in touch over the yrs. As well as discussing the passing of her wonderful, loving and adventurous husband James.

We decided to go out to eat at the local country club restaurant. Where we all indulged in hefty burgers 🍔 (I forgot to take a picture). They were so tasty. We returned to the house and talked some more. Simply enjoying the company of each other. Then, it was time to part ways to go to bed 🛏, until tomorrow! 🥱.
