Day 65:

Something, special came full circle today!

Glacier Point and it was cold!

Waking up this morning was cold. We waited for the morning sun ☀️ to rise up before preparing our way to Yosemite. Though, it would not stick around for long.

Coffee ☕️ made the perfect way to warm up. Besides, just staying under the covers. We got TJ Shack ready and headed out. This park is huge. So, we knew we would not explore it all in one day. So, today we made our way to the ever confusing location of the visitor center and to Glacier Point. If you ever have driven through a national park. You know there will be several stops along the way to see various viewpoints, trails and sights. So, getting to Glacier Point took a big part of the day. Even with a cool and cloudy ⛅️day it was still nice. 😊

We stopped for a short lunch 🥙. Remember, yesterday I made my mom’s chicken salad. It was good. But, missing the special mom touch. We took a short walk along a river. Admiring the views and questioning various types of plant life.

I want to take a step back and share something special. If you recall a couple of days ago we stayed at the Travellodge in Angels Camp, California. I went it the thrift store next door while Jacob worked. I was looking at the books and noticed a few bibles. I really don’t like seeing bibles at thrift store, goodwills or any kind of second hand store. To me they have a story. But, to my surprise I would learn the story for one!

I picked up a small Bible. Thumbing through it while noticing several areas highlighted, underlined and pages written ✍️ on. I looked at the names written in the front pages. To Sue Semas From Travis Semas and Ashley Semas. I wondered why it was here and did these ppl know it was sitting on a dusty bottom shelf of a thrift store.

Well, facebook is a great way to find someone. So, thinking Semas is not a common last name. I’ll take my chances. So, I looked for both names. Finding and messaging both. Travis answered.

He informed me that his mom Sue passed away recently on 8/24/24. He and his brothers cleaned out her belongings and storage. Mostly like not realizing the Bible was in her storage items. Well, today Travis messaged me thanking me for letting him know about his mom’s Bible. He went to the thrift store and bought it back for .42 cents. I asked him if he told them it was his mom’s. But, considering they were busy. He was proud of the purchase and to have such a special momento. I am happy to share this full circle story with his permission. Thank you Travis.

I would say Day 1 of the park was successful. Tomorrow, we will see more. It is supposed to be little warmer!
